The Black epiSTEMologies team located at Tennessee State University is under the direction of Dr. Andrea Tyler. As PI of the TSU site, Dr. Tyler is supported by Future Dr. Beatrice Magombana (Graduate Research Assistant) and Ja’Mya Brown, Kaleb Gibson, Linzee Nelson, and Ty’Kuan Smith (Undergraduate Students). This site is collecting data from schools in the State of Tennessee.

MEET THE BLACK EPISTEMOLOGIES TENNESSEE STATE TEAM

  • Dr. Andrea L. Tyler

    Co-PI, Tennessee State University

    Dr. Tyler is the Director of Graduate Students Services and Executive Director of Title III Administration at Tennessee State University. Her research interests include the educational experiences of Black graduate students in STEM, STEM equity and inclusion, the influence of mentoring on academic outcomes, and STEM identity.
